Calendula

Calendula (Calendula officinalis) is a treasured botanical rich in bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, triterpenoids, and carotenoids. Scientific studies suggest these plant compounds provide antioxidant benefits and help soothe the skin by supporting a balanced inflammatory response. Traditionally used for delicate and sensitive skin, calendula extracts have also been studied for their role in supporting the skin’s natural repair processes and maintaining a healthy-looking skin barrier.

Key scientific findings:

  • Flavonoids & carotenoids → provide antioxidant activity, helping protect skin from oxidative stress.

  • Triterpenoids → are among the compounds associated with calendula’s soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Skin repair support → clinical and preclinical studies have investigated calendula extracts for their ability to support wound-healing processes, including tissue regeneration pathways.
